MAC 'Stereo Rose' MSF | £21.50 | Seems to be out of stock everywhere at the moment

It seems everyone and their granny purchased this last year when it was brought back as a permanent line product due to popular demand after previously only being  in a limited edition collection, so I gave in to the hype and got it for myself.

I'd never tried a Mineralize Skin Finish from MAC before, and to be honest wasn't sure what they done (oops). In the pan it's a gorgeous light coral shade with a subtle gold veining. It's a sight to behold! On my skin tone (as seen in the swatch) it comes across as a coral-y, rose gold shade. It's pretty much a two in one product as it adds a lot of dimension and lift to the face so you definitely don't need a separate highlighter. I love using 'Stereo Rose' on the top of my cheeks when I'm having a minimal makeup day as it gives me a glowy look whilst adding a hint of colour. If you ever set eyes on this beauty snatch it up as it seems to go out of stock really quickly.

This gorgeous little quad contains the first Rimmel eyeshadows I've owned, other than their Scandaleyes Shadow Paint in 'Rich Russet' which is a firm favourite! When I saw it I thought the 4 shades would be so complimentary to a tanned complexion in the summer months, whether it be a light wash of the lightest shade across the lid or a full on bronzed goddess smokey eye. The packaging is a pretty standard glossy black casing, but what I really love is the quilted effect on the shadows, it just adds some extra glamour I feel. In the palette comes a beautiful light champagne shade, a bright gold, a shimmering taupe, and a coppery bronze, along with a double ended sponge applicator. All the shadows have a shimmer running through them which I love! I'd say the pigmentation is good and buildable if you're after a more intense look. I believe there are 6 quads in the Glam Eyes line so I'll definitely be checking out some more colour options - I've already got my eye on 'Smokey Purple'.

What are your thoughts on the Rimmel quads?

I feel ashamed to say that my last post was on the 4th of May! (May the 4th be with you and all that). It feels like I haven't had a minutes rest since then with my college graded unit taking over every aspect of my entire life! But I'm now so glad to say college is over for summer (yeehaaaa) and I'll have some extra time to blog. I've really missed it. Anyway, enough rambling and excuses. Let's review!

In January I signed up to a 6 month subscription of Glossybox, which means I received my last box this month. I'm not going to lie and say all the boxes have been filled with amazing goodies but there have been some little gems thrown in, and the boxes come in handy for storage. One of those 'gems' came in this months box, and it was from the brand So Susan! I'd never heard of them before, and after doing a bit of research I found that they are still quite a new company, founded in 2012. Their products all have skincare benefits which is brilliant if you wear makeup a lot. I'll definitely be having a look on their site to see what other products they have to offer.

I'm so happy with the So Susan Universal Blush from my June Glossybox. It says on their site that this blush "works with your skin's natural chemistry to create a universal healthy flush that is flattering on all skintones." Sounds science-y huh? But super cool. It has lovely, buildable pigmentation and a beautiful, fine shimmer running though it. The shade on my skin is gorgeous - a peachy, pink with a hint of gold. Perfect for those healthy looking summer cheeks. I'm glad I received it in my Glossybox as at £17.95 I'm not sure I would buy it myself, but it's totally different to anything I have.

Next stop, Birchbox.

Have you tried any So Susan products?

Maybelline Colour Sensational 'The Buffs' Lipstick | £6.99 each | Available at Boots

I'm always on the hunt for a nice nude lipstick even though I've got far too many already. It's an addiction! (read my post on L'Oreal's Collection Privée nude lippies here). It can sometimes be hard to find a 'perfect nude' in the high street shops as most brands only have one nude lipstick per range. That's why I love 'The Buffs' Collection by Maybelline, there is a shade to suit absolutely everyone! The 3 shades I own from the collection are 'Tantalizing Taupe' - a true nude that would go perfectly with a heavy eye look (my most reached for nude recently), 'Coffee Craze' - a brown toned nude aimed towards medium to dark skin tones but I just like a browny lip sometimes (received in a Glossybox), and lastly 'Naked Brown' - a dark brown/red, a very vampy, sexy colour.

The packaging is a pretty standard plastic casing, but still pretty. Formulation wise they are lovely and creamy, but this also means not particularly long lasting, I could probably get 2-3 hours wear out of one of these lipsticks, which is fine for me!

I've really enjoyed this collection and I hope other high street brands follow suit of L'Oreal and Maybelline with their nude collections.

Have you tried any lipsticks from this collection?

St. Tropez Naturals Self Tan Lotion 200ml | £7.99 | Available at Savers (no link)
Also available from Boots for a mighty £26.59

I've relied on Garnier Summer Body Moisturising Lotion for years to give me a golden glow. It gives such a nice colour and it's only a fiver for 250ml! I much prefer gradual tans to mouses or instant tans as I think they give the most natural look, although if I've got to be tanned for a night out on the tiles I'll chuck on some St. Moritz mouse to get me super dark, super quick! I've never really delved into the self tans I'd class as 'high end' such as Fake Bake or St. Tropez, but recently I was in a Savers store and saw this St. Tropez Naturals Self Tan Lotion for only £7.99 so I snatched it up as I know how expensive St. Tropez products can go for.

I always apply my tans, even the gradual ones, using latex gloves and a mitt so not to get any on my hands. I found this consistency to be very thick and quite hard to spread around using the mitt though, so not the best start. The smell of the tan wasn't offensive but it is quite strong so if you don't like 'in your face' tan fragrance then I'd steer clear. After letting the tan dry I went to bed, and when I woke up in the morning I was pleased to see I had a lovely tan (that wasn't orange!). It lasted for around 4 days without going patchy, then I lightly exfoliated and reapplied. It came out nice and even once again which I liked. With it coming in a tube bottle it's easy to see how much tan you're squeezing out, although when the tan comes out it's white and has no guide colour. I love the olive toned glow this tan develops into though. Although I enjoyed the results of this tan and I think it's great value for money at just £7.99, I think I'll stick to my trusty Garnier Lotion for the time being - or until something else catches my eye.

Do you have a favourite gradual tan?

I'm a fan of  the TV show Big Brother (go on, judge me) and whilst watching the series back at the start of the year, I noticed the presenter of the show, the stunning Emma Willis (pictured) had a gorgeous bold lippy on. After a ten minute long Google sesh' once the episode had finished, I finally found other people who were also in search of the shade. A few people were saying it looked like MAC 'Heroine', and later on Emma's makeup artist confirmed it was infact 'Heroine' that Emma wore on the episode. The Googling continued, only to be disappointed by the fact that 'Heroine' was once a limited edition shade and was no longer available, but then I came across the exciting news that it was coming back in the permanent range!! I believe it went on sale in UK MAC stores on March 6th of this year, so I obviously had to grab it for myself.

The lipstick is a gorgeous fuschia toned purple. It may not look very wearable in the bullet but if you like the look of this lipstick and don't want the opacity there's always the option to dab it onto the lips to create a sheer layer of colour, almost like a stain, although when I wear it I go all out! It's a matte finish which is my favourite, especially for vibrant shades like this as it's pretty low maintenance and super long wearing.

If you're interested in 'Heroine' you better get in there quick as it always seems to be sold out.

When I heard Models Own had brought out a nail polish collection designed to enhance a tan (what an awesome concept) I was all over it! There are five neon pastel shades in the collection, ranging from a highlighter green colour to a bubblegum pink. 'Beach Bag', a bright coral orange colour, was the polish I chose to buy. It just appealed to me the most I guess, but 'Flip Flop' and 'Shades' are next on my list from the collection.

Since this is such a bright shade I'd recommend applying a white polish first to make the colour really pop, It also means you need fewer coats of the coloured polish - I'd say two. The formula applies well and it comes with a good brush which isn't too wide. The only downside I've found to this polish is that it chips quickly. Within a day of applying it I noticed chips had appeared at the tips of my nails. I applied Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Top Coat over the polish which usually makes it last at least four days without chipping, so I was super disappointed about that. Although that's a bit of a bummer it won't stop me from wearing the polish again - the colour is too nice not to!

Check out my Instagram to see the polish on my nails.

What is your favourite shade from the collection?

When I started my blog in September '13 I had no idea what to name my blog, so being completely imaginative and original I decided on 'GILLIAN' (my name). Recently I've given my blog a bit of a makeover, including a new name - "She Made Me Buy It", because aren't all beauty bloggers easily influenced?! So just to let you guys know that from now on my new url will be ''. (previously
